Mark McElroy is the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, Communications. Mark brings with him more than twenty years of experience in communications for both nonprofit and for profit organizations as well as a wide variety of professional roles and experiences.
Mark has an earned PhD in organizational behavior, group learning, and philosophy. This, coupled with a bachelor’s degree in the sciences, has prepared him to contribute to a variety of settings. Mark has served as a vocational minister, managed a large cattle operation, produced and marketed grain, served as adjunct faculty for a graduate school, established a consulting practice, engineered curricular/educational materials, and authored a variety of articles in multiple fields for both general and professional audiences. He has written speeches, contributed to research, and edited books. Mark has contributed to multiple books that have made the New York Times Best Sellers list for nonfiction. He has also established himself as an effective group facilitator and conference leader.
Mark’s wide array of experiences provides him a unique perspective on the relationship of technology to public policy, business practices, and culture. As an advisor to both policy analysts and the investment community, Mark is able to translate cultural trends to the private and public sector in a constructive and efficient manner. His academic training in systems science provides him with the flexibility to quickly contribute to any organization by providing quality feedback and strategy that is rooted in complex grids but is communicated in simple terms.
At Connected Nation, Mark is responsible for enabling the organization to most effectively execute its mission, identifying its most appropriate strategy and effectively communicating its goals, work and results.

- Additional graduate study in family systems theory at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work
